Christian de Quincey, Ph.D.
-
For more than 25 years, I have been exploring and writing about mind and cosmos, and guiding people through the mystery of consciousness. I am an international speaker on consciousness, cosmology, and spirituality at conferences and workshops in the United States and Europe.
As a teacher and writer, I am dedicated to making difficult issues simple and clear — even for those with no background in this field. My main interest is to find common ground between various worldviews.
My academic positions include: professor of philosophy at John F. Kennedy University, where I teach Philosophy and Consciousness Studies.
I am also the Arthur Young Professor of Philosophy at the University of Philosophical Research; as well as adjunct faculty with the Holmes Institute; visiting professor at Schumacher College, (UK), and adjunct faculty with the Union Institute & University.
I am founder of The Wisdom Academy, offering mentorships and coaching in consciousness and conscious evolution.
My books include the award-winning Radical Nature: Rediscovering the Soul of Matter, and Radical Knowing: Understanding Consciousness through Relationship, Consciousness from Zombies to Angels , and Deep Spirit: Cracking the Noetic Code. I am also co-author with Willis Harman of The Scientific Exploration of Consciousness.
My work on consciousness has appeared in both popular and academic journals, including Journal of Consciousness Studies, Journal of Transpersonal Psychology, Cerebrum, ReVision, Network, Noetic Sciences Review, Shift, Quest, Connections, Advances in Mind-Body Medicine and Somatics. Formerly, I was managing editor at the Institute of Noetic Sciences.
I served as a member of the advisory committee for the University Arizona’s Center for Consciousness Studies; on the program committee for the University of Arizona’s “Spirituality & Healing” conference; and on the program committee for Dublin University’s conference on “Cognitive Science.”
I hold a doctorate in Philosophy and Religion from the California Institute of Integral Studies , and masters degree in consciousness studies from JFK University.
Before moving into academia, I was a professional journalist for national newspapers including The Irish Times, London's Sunday Times, and the science journal Nature; and a marketing communications consultant for hi-tech companies.
